Frank Cignetti - 1976-79

Frank Cignetti was Bobby Bowden’s offensive coordinator before being elevated to the head coaching role in 1976. Cignetti failed to generate a winning season during his four years at WVU and he spent his last two years battling a rare form of cancer, but he later resurfaced at Indiana, Pennsylvania, where he became one of the top coaches in Division II. Cignetti is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
