John Rane was another faculty member who oversaw the team for two years. Highlights during the Princeton graduate’s tenure included the first-ever touchdown and the first-ever victory recorded against an independent team from nearby Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania in 1893. His two teams won four games and lost three.
